Everyone knows of the endangered giant panda. They are everywhere, they'e main attractions at zoos and even the face of WWF, the World Wildlife Fund which works to help and save endangered animals.
There's been debates of whether all the funding gong towards panda's could be better spent.
On one side, the funding towards the panda's is not only helping them, but the ecosystem and other organisms around them. Because of their flourishing environment, the other creatures that live in correlation with the panda's are getting the pampered treatment too. However, this helpfulness to the other animals obviously only applies to the ones that live in close approximation to the pandas.

On the other side, there are a lot of animals that could use the funding, but aren't getting it because they're ugly. Panda's are cute, so people go with the mindset of "it's cute, we have to save it!". But because so many people find these creatures adorable, they're getting loads of money.
I'm not saying panda's aren't important. Obviously they are, all animals are important to the environment they live in, however, maybe if the foundations in charge of the money could spread it out evenly. Possibly to help much more detrimental species such as bees. Without panda's I'm sure humans could live, but without bees we would die.
Sorry to all the panda lovers out there, but they're getting far too much attention.
