Today in class we did personality tests. My results were what I was expecting. I got the Wanderer for the first test, which means I'm fast to adapt to wherever life takes me. For the second quiz, it says I side with the New Democratic party. The third quiz I took was seeing how well you would survive with $1000 to start, for a month. I ended the month with $282. The final quiz was seeing which of 16 personality types you are. I got the INTP personality. INTP stands for introverted, intuitive, thinking and perceptive.
Most of the tests stated how I keep to myself and I find that's very true. In the first test, I got a very low percent of openness. But clashing with that statement, I also got that I enjoy social situations like parties. It seems that having fun with people and being social isn't a problem for me, but once the more deep and emotional level of social comes into play, I get more closed off. Another result I wasn't surprised about was that my agreeableness percentage was fairly high. This means I'm willing to compromise to make others happy or to benefit them. I've found through the years I do this a lot, often putting myself second. But I've recently been trying to do this less. A result tying with this, was my calmness. I'm emotionally stable, this meaning if someone is mad or arguing (mom), I usually don't fight back. I let the person get the upper hand to end the argument and steer from drama. I'm less likely to get upset, so unless the argument is about something I'm very passionate about, I will dismiss it. This helps a lot being a teenager in high school. One result I was surprised about however, was my lack of planning. I thought that I planned out everything I did, but after taking the test I realized how much I do things on impulse. I want to break from this habit, one day I'll make a quick decision that I will regret.
I don't keep up much with politics or the government, but I do agree with the test results about the political parties. This quiz says I side with the New Democratic party. I fully support the idea of all the citizens choosing their leader instead of a Countries leader being born into the position.
The activity with surviving off of $1000 for a month was difficult. I made it through, but having to so wisely choose how you spent your money was hard. There was no room to buy the luxuries like cellphones and toys, you were only able to spend money on the necessities of groceries and paying the bills.
For my personality type, INTP, I was skeptic as to whether I got the right result. But when I began reading about them, I was sure it was me. Right off the bat the website (http://www.16personalities.com/intp-personality) stated
"The INTP personality type is fairly rare, making up only three percent of the population, which is definitely a good thing for them, as there's nothing they'd be more unhappy about than being "common"." This couldn't be more true.
The results of the tests help me better understand myself. I've read about some strengths and weaknesses I have. I can use this to my advantage to voice my opinions better, now that I'm more confident with myself and who I am.
